We have arranged a discounted rate for Festival attendees. Rooms for up to 2 people are $59.40 and for 3 or 4 people are $70.20 including tax (yes this is less than what’s on the flyer so be happy). Cancellation policy - must cancel by 4:00p.m. January 27 or will be charged for one night. This motel is about 2.5 miles from the festival. The price includes a continental breakfast and the rooms have free wireless intenet access. Motel 6, 2274 Newport Blvd., Costa Mesa.
This is a newly remodeled building that was formerly a privately-owned motel. It has some rooms with inside entrances in addition to the traditional exterior room entrances. No breakfast available. Wireless internet access is $3 per day. As of December 8 rooms for 2 people on the festival weekend were listed between $56 and $75 plus tax. Motel 6 is about 3.5 miles from the festival. Holiday Inn Express, 2300 W Coast Highway, Newport Beach
This is the nearest (and also more expensive) hotel . It is less than half a mile from the festival so you can walk. Coast Highway (and the hotel) are at the bottom of a cliff so to walk to the festival you have to go up that cliff using a set of about 80 stairs thoughtfully provided nearby. Alas, no elevator. On the upside, after you’ve been dancing all day and are tired, it’s a downhill walk back to the hotel. Driving is an alternative, a bit farther because you can't drive up the stairs. As of December 8, rooms for the weekend were at least $152 plus tax. They also charge $7.50 per day for parking (If you’re walking you can probably park near the festival free). The Barr group reservation

If you are somewhat adventuresome, you can try Priceline. You may get a nearby hotel at a cheaper rate, but you won’t know what hotel until you buy and there are no refunds. Watch out for parking fees. www.priceline.com
